Following the Millcreek School Board’s decision to cut their Montessori program, the Montessori Regional Charter School is clarifying: they are not affected by Millcreek’s decision.
The charter school’s CEO Anthony Pirello is saying their school will not see any of Millcreek’s Montessori students affected by the district cut.
Pirello says enrolling is not as simple as jumping ship from a public school to a charter school. There are waiting lists and often lotteries involved with admission.
While he is disappointed to see a Montessori-focused program leave a district, Pirello says he is not critical of the school board’s choice.
