A local church takes a new spin on a Christmas display.
Erie First Assembly of God celebrates Christmas with a drive thru display and lighting event. Upon entering, guests are treated with popcorn and hot cocoa. Then, they travel through the all of the lights and themed displays like the Charlie Brown Christmas. The main feature of the event, a live nativity with live animals and people dressed from that time period.
“When you drive by, it brings it to life a little bit to maybe imagine what it was like 2000 years ago when jesus was born… which really just shows what our church believes Christmas is centered around and that is Jesus’ birthday in Bethlehem, ” said Nichole Schreiber, lead pastor at Erie First Assembly of God.
Organizers says nearly 1,700 people came to event the night before.
