Local News

The penalty for possessing recreational marijuana could soon be reduced in Erie.

Erie City Council is weighing a measure that calls for decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana.  Currently, those caught with the drug illegally could face a misdemeanor.  The reduced penalty would be a summary offense with a fine.

The council will take a vote tomorrow night during its regular meeting at 7:30.
