Erie City Councilman David Brennan said he has an idea to end the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority stalemate between the city and the county.
In an attempt to resolve the EMTA charter issue, Brennan has put together a proposal that would try and find a solution that both the city and county can agree to.
That proposal includes a $2 million lump sum payment to the city from the county.
At this time, Brennan said he’s not sure where his proposal will go.
“I’m not sure where it will go from here, but I do know we need to take action,” Brennan said. “We need to have some type of resolution to go forward to get the charter signed.”
Brennan said the $2 million amount was just a number for discussion.
