Should gay conversion therapy be banned? It’s a question that a city councilperson wants the city to explore.
City Councilwoman Kathy Schaaf will present a resolution to Erie City Council tonight requesting that the mayor’s LGBTQ Advisory Council take up the issue, review data, and report back to the City Council.
Schaaf says the point is “to have everyone feel that they are a part of the city and this is their home. They are welcomed here. They are loved.” She says she wants to learn how local and state policies could better protect LGBTQ residents.
The City Council will hold a regular meeting tonight at 7:30.
