City of Erie accepting code enforcement applications

Local News

The City of Erie is now accepting applications from outside City Hall in the hunt for a new code enforcement officer.

Department manager Andy Zimmerman says no one bid on the position from inside City Hall, but that since opening it up to the public, he’s already received between 20 and 25 applications.

The new officer will fight blight in Erie’s east and west bayfront neighborhoods.

$70,000 is budgeted for the job, including salary and benefits. That money is coming from the highly debated community development block grant funds.

If you’re interested in the position, you can e-mail your resume to Connie Cook at

Applications are due on Tuesday, October 11th.
