City of Meadville announces employee layoffs

Andy Walker, the Meadville City Manager, has announced a reduced staffing plan for city operations.

The plan includes partial or full furloughs that impact every department, but preserves essential functions, including public safety.

Furloughs include five positions in the public works department and eight administrative positions housed in the police department and city building.

This furlough goes into effect on Monday, April 6th
