This week, the city of Erie is beginning interviews for its first Digital Media Coordinator. Mayor Joe Schember tells us 75 people applied for the job. He says the position will allow city officials to portray a message more effectively to the community.
“It’s very important now that we’re in the 21st century and, particularly, millennials and people younger than that, they live in social media and right now we’re not touching them like we should so this position is very important to us. We want to choose the right person and we’re really looking forward to getting this going.”
The mayor says he hopes to have the position filled by the beginning of May.
