A suspended Erie Police Officer sits through more than three full days of testimony facing homicide by DUI charges.
The trial for Cheryl Frey continued today. She’s charged with driving drunk, causing a three-car collision and killing 57-year-old Wade Schultze.
The prosecution says all three drivers involved were legally drunk at the time of the accident, but they say only Frey is responsible for the crash. Frey’s attorney is making the case that she was targeted because of her line of work as a police officer at the time.
The defense finished calling its witnesses late this afternoon. Closing arguments are set to begin Monday morning.
