Confusing state and possibly nationwide school bomb threats investigated

Local News

A threatening email prompts one local district to evacuate a number of schools.

Millcreek School District sent an alert out to parents near the end of the day that mentioned a threatening email.  The district initially evacuated JS Wilson and Westlake Middle Schools before receiving information that the threat may be state or even nationwide.

Investigators are still trying to piece together information to determine if the threat is credible.

Timothy Ferrick of the Millcreek Police says, “If a kid sees something; notify an adult, a teacher, the principal, or something if it’s at school and you see anything unusual, an adult, don’t be afraid to call. Call the non-emergency number. Call 911 if you think it’s an emergency and then we’ll respond and deal with it as seen fit.’

Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
