Conklin sentenced in murder case

A 43-year-old New York man is sentenced for the shooting death of a Chautauqua County violinist.

Jonathan Conklin receiving a sentence of 25-years to life for the shooting death of 61-year-old Mary Wells, who played for the Chautauqua Symphony.

Wells was shot in the head in her home in Sherman New York in the summer of 2014.

Acting district attorney Patrick Swanson told action news he is pleased with the maximum, which he says came about through quick work from New York law enforcement with some help from Erie Police.

Conklin’s accomplice, 30-year-old Charles Sanford will be sentenced this Friday.
