Millfair Road in Millcreek and Fairview townships in Erie County is scheduled to be closed to through traffic from 10 AM to 10 PM on Tuesday, August 15.
The one-day-long closure is required to enable workers to set beams for the bridge being constructed over the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks that cross Millfair Road.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured on Asbury Road.
Construction of this bridge, and another over the CSX Railroad tracks that cross Millfair Road, is part of a $12.5 million project to improve safety and traffic flow on Millfair Road. The bridges will carry vehicles and pedestrians over the railroad tracks and eliminate the existing at-grade crossings.
The two-year-long project is located on Millfair Road between the intersection with Route 20 and the intersection with Route 5.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
