Your pet could be a hazard to professionals hired to work inside the home. Today, National Fuel Gas Company trains employees to prevent dog bites.
On an average day, meter readers enter several different homes, many with dogs inside. And, even if pet owners have trained their dogs, they could still act out against a stranger, putting meter readers in a dangerous situation.
Mitzi Robinson, Owner of Bulli Ray Enterprises, tells us, “They’re not asking you to put the dog away because they’re trying to make you less safe. They’re asking you to put the dog away for your safety, the dog’s safety and the employees safety.”
Trainers say people need to put their pets away when a professional is working. Employees tell us National Fuel likes dogs, but safety for everyone in the home is the top priority.
