Erie County Council is looking at ways to increase accountability in the county’s grant application process. Council is proposing the creation of a committee to assist in the collection of applications. That committee would consist of five individuals.
Finance Committee Chairwoman Kathy Fatica says forming the committee and a uniformed application process would form a stronger basis for awarding the grants. “We just want to make sure that we look at the process for reviewing the grant applications, that all the applications answer the basic questions.”
County Council will take up the issue at Tuesday’s meeting.
