A program designed to help fight blighted properties receives a jump start from Erie County Council.
With a unanimous vote, the Council approved the release of one million dollars to the Land Bank account. The money coming from the gaming revenue restricted account. This first payment is designed to show confidence in the land bank board and its incorporation and their ability to get their job done.
Also on tonight’s agenda was the unanimous vote to pass the human relations commissions recommendations on protected classes. The agreement will last 10 years, and will lower barriers to housing for ex convicts.
