Erie County Council is putting pay raises for county employees on hold.
Council voted 6 to 1 in favor of the resolution that halts the wage increases until a consultant finishes a review of the county’s pay structure.
The review began a year ago and is expected to be finished by the end of May with results coming out in June.
Councilmen in favor of the resolution say it isn’t biding, but is more of a message to department heads and administration to stop asking for pay raises until council implements a solution based on plan results.
Andre Horton voted against the resolution.
