It may be too pricey for the county government to continue to operate the Woodcock Lake Park and Campground.
The Meadville Tribune is reporting that Crawford County supervisors are asking to be allowed out of their 25-year lease.
Currently, the property is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers and leased back to the county at no cost. But, operating expenses of some $65,000 a year are not being covered by campground and equipment rentals.
If approved, the county would be out of the lease by the end of the summer camping season.
