With a formal ribbon cutting, Crawford County’s Transit Authority opened their new maintenance facility.
The Crawford Area Transportation Authority cut the ribbon on their new bus garage in Vernon Township this morning. For many years, the authority has had to park their vehicles in a parking lot and contract out many repair items. The new $6 million garage allows indoor bus storage and in-house maintenance.
Tim Geibel, CATA General Manager, says, “the facility you see here will really transform our services by allowing us to do our own maintenance, wash the vehicles, store the vehicles and store everything under one roof”.
The new facility features a bus washer and fueling equipment for CATA’s new compressed natural gas-powered buses.
