Drivers in Crawford County face some detours in the coming days. PennDOT plans to close Route 6/19 while workers connect the new roundabout at Route 198 into the road network. The closure is scheduled to begin at 6 am, Monday June 12th and will run until Friday June 16. This is a week later than the original plan. Detour signs will be in place.

In Vernon Township, the Kennedy Hill Road bridge over I-79 will close for work on the major bridge rehab project starting Monday June 12th until Wednesday July 26th. Detour signs will be in place. This bridge, built in 1969, normally accommodates over 3700 vehicles a day. The rehab project will run in excess of $1 million and is paid for entirely with federal funds.

Drivers also need to be aware that the 4 way stop at Rogers Ferry Road and Dunham Road, in front of the Vernon Township Vol. Fire Department, is now a TWO WAY stop sign. Use caution near this intersection while local drivers get used to the new arrangements. This intersection had regular traffic lights until last year.
