Customers ‘pour’ into Ember and Forge

Local News

A downtown business owner cuts the ribbon to her new coffee shop located on State Street.

Hannah Kirby joined Erie Downtown Partnership’s John Buchna, Mayor Joe Schember, and other officials as she was welcomed into the neighborhood.  Her new coffee shop, ‘Ember and Forge’ offers high-quality coffee and sweet treats to its guests.

Though not from Erie, Kirby graduated from Gannon University and fell in love with the city.  Kirby says she “just really felt the energy downtown and was really drawn to it. So, I wanted to figure out how I could get back down and be here full time. So, being able to open up the shop downtown allows me to be here every day. It’s just been an awesome feeling and just a great place to be.”

The Erie Downtown Partnership promoted their new, ‘I Care for Erie’ campaign during today’s ribbon cutting.  For more information on that campaign, go to
