Take a break and dance.
That’s exactly what dozens did in downtown Erie Thursday afternoon.
The Crime Victim Center’s Midday Dance Break series kicked off in Perry Square Thursday.
It was the first event of the six week series.
The theme this year is empowerment.
The Crime Victim Center hopes to bring positivity to the community and give people an opportunity to connect through the dance breaks.
The public is invited to come out every Thursday from noon until 1 p.m.
“We really feel that we can strengthen our community by coming together, people of all kinds of ages and walks of life, appreciating life and may be a way that they have not done before,” Martine Barclay Holquist, prevention center educational specialist.
An artist will be featured at the midday dance break each week.
Those pieces will be showcased during a gallery night at the end of the summer.
