A decision to overturn a decades-old murder conviction could be appealed.

The district attorney’s office of Erie is looking to appeal the State Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the third-degree murder charge of Raymond Payne.

Payne was charged with the murder of 16-year-old Debbie Gama back in 1975.

The DA is looking into a possible mistake made in the decision and what role fluids found on the victim had in overturning that conviction.
