The Erie School Board also recognized local and state leaders for their work to secure funding for the district.
A representative of Governor Tom Wolf, Senator Dan Laughlin, and Representative Curt Sonney attended the board meeting, accepting plaques yesterday. The School Board also thanking County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper and State Representatives Ryan Bizzarro, Flo Fabrizio and Pat Harkins.
Dan Laughlin says, “They should understand that there’s 11,500 students in this district that, hopefully, are going to get a better education than they would’ve without that money. And that means a lot to me that I was able to have an impact on somebody’s children.”
House Bill 674 will provide $14 million in funding to the school district each year.
