Many of us aren’t prepared for the bitter cold temperatures but skiers at Peek ‘N Peak in Clymer, New York didn’t seem to mind at all. That’s because the season got underway today and for some, hitting the slopes on day one is an ongoing tradition and they’ve been waiting for months.
Staff members are excited about the coming season, saying the combination of man-made and natural snow is making for some great conditions so far. Stuart Gates, of Peek ‘N Peak, says, “As you can see, we got a couple feet of snow in the last week or so and we finally get to ski on it. [We’ve] been making snow since last Wednesday, [it’s] definitely [a] good package to open with”.
Peek staffer say it took more than 30 million gallons of water to create the artificial snow currently on the slopes.
