Deadline passes in first Arrington extension with additional extension request still up in the air

Local News

The deadline is now past for defense motions in the fraud case against Erie City council President Sonya Arrington and still no ruling on a request for even more time.

Arrington is facing those charges for allegedly misusing funds from her Mothers Against Teen Violence charity.  Her attorney asked for six months to review volumes of paperwork, a deadline that ends today, October 3rd.

The defense wants the court to grant another delay until February, a motion prosecutors are opposing.

Neither Defense Attorney Len Ambrose nor Prosecutor Christian Trebold returned calls seeking comment.
