Death penalty warrant delayed for Millcreek man

Local News

The warrant in Erie County’s only active death penalty case is now delayed just two days after it was signed.

Earlier this week, the death warrant was signed for 46 year old Stephen Treiber, the Millcreek man convicted of the arson death of his two year old daughter.

The stay of execution was granted because Treiber has appealed his case to federal court.

Only three people have been executed in Pennsylvania since the late 70’s, and all three dropped their appeals.
