The demolition of the McBride Viaduct is expected to begin tomorrow.
After years of debate, the first steps in removing the 80-year-old bridge are set to begin.
Officials with PennDOT say the contractor will start removing the southern portion of the bridge. However, the predicted snowfall could effect that plan.
The demolition comes in the middle of a legal battle between the City of Erie and a local organization called Erie Connect + Respect, (CPR).
The removal process is expected to take several months.
