We all know Presque Isle rocks but that phrase has taken on a new meaning.
Marquette Bank hid 50 specially painted “Be M-Powered” rocks on Presque Isle and invited the public to search for them as part of the “Rock Out Erie” event.
Finders could then redeem the rocks for sunglasses and frisbees at the Marquette-Early Connections tent at Beach 11.
“Well we thought it was a great way to partner with Discover Presque Isle to help people, encourage people to get the various locations that they would like people to go to, such as the lighthouse beach, or the kite-flying beach or the recreational area between the ponds or out here at the new children’s center,” said Pete Sitter, the vice president of marketing at Marquette Bank.
The effort is a take off on “Rock Out Erie”, a “Made in Erie” game that has grown to over 14,000 participants.
