The Erie Sports Commission has announced that PA BASS Nation will hold a $10K Open Buddy Tournament on Lake Erie on Saturday, August 25.
The event will begin at the Marina Bay Launch on Presque Isle State Park at 6:30 a.m. with weigh-ins in the same location at 2:30 p.m. The winning team will receive a $10,000 prize based on a 100-boat field with a five-fish limit.
Teams of two can participate in the tournament, which is open to anyone interested in participating. Participants do not need to be members of PA BASS Nation. Entry is $300 per team with an optional $20 lunker pool. The top ten teams will receive a cash prize.
Registration will be accepted on the day of the event at Marina Bay Launch, with cash-only payments accepted.
“B.A.S.S. Nation holds events in Erie frequently, because it is a haven for bass fishing, and because we have great support from the Erie Sports Commission and Erie community,” said Josh Giran, President of PA B.A.S.S. Nation. “With a huge prize on the table, we hope to see the region’s best anglers come out to participate and have a really competitive tournament.”
“Fishing events are great for Erie, and those hosted by PA B.A.S.S. Nation are always a great opportunity for fishermen to participate from around the state,” said Mark Jeanneret, Executive Director of the Erie Sports Commission. “Erie waters are known for their bass fishing, and we’re looking forward to working with Josh and his team at PA B.A.S.S. Nation to put on this exciting tournament.”
