Two dogs are receiving intensive medical treatment after being rescued in an downtown fire.

Now, help is needed to pay for their vet bills.

Stinky and Ellie suffered major inhalation issues after they were rescued from a fire on East 8th and Wayne Streets early Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, the owner of the dogs is an induced coma in Pittsburgh, also recovering from injuries from the fire, according to Nicole Bawol, executive director of the Humane Society.

The Humane Society has been footing the vet bills to keep both dogs alive while their owner fights a battle of her own.

Stinky is recovering at the Humane Society.

Ellie is still receiving treatment at Glenwood Animal Hospital.
