Don’t Give up the Disc Tourney returns to Erie

Local News

The Don’t Give up the Disc Tournament returned to Erie this weekend.

The 16th annual ultimate Frisbee tournament took over Beach 11 at Presque Isle Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament brought more than a dozen coed teams from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Ontario to compete for the title.

Director of the Erie Ultimate League, Hayden Weaver, says he hopes this tournament will help promote the sport of ultimate.

Weaver says, “So I started Erie Ultimate League Enterprises as a way to just continue to grow ultimate Frisbee here in Erie. We have youth leagues that we’re trying to start up, get the high school and colleges involved. I do a lot of winter leagues and fall leagues. So just a way to bring this non-contact, fun sport to Erie.”
