Edinboro facades to see improvements this summer

Local News

Revenues from casino gambling are being put to use fighting blight in downtown Edinboro.

This morning, six business owners are the winners of the first-ever Main Street Facade Grants from the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.  Those dollars will be used for things like new windows and door, along with painting and brickwork.

The end result is hoped to be a better-looking downtown Edinboro.

Scott Loop of Dobber Auto Supply says, “I think it will make the borough look a lot nicer, not only just for the locals, but for students and parents that come in. It will be more attractive overall for the university and the town”.

In all, the facade grants and investment from Edinboro and the business owners will create more than $56,000 in improvements this summer.
