Edinboro University students with disabilities protest changes to assistance program

Local News

Edinboro University students with physical disabilities are facing some big and unwanted changes.  On Saturday, they gathered to protest.

Students were protesting changes announced for disability care.  The attendant program provides 24/7 care for physically disabled students.

Interim President Michael Hannan says each student will get to meet with service coordinators to discuss what types of private provider services can be coordinated for them next year. “…Global view of what all of those needs are and what would be the most effective way to have those services provided so the students can get as close as possible to the types of services Edinboro has been historically providing them. “

There are currently 36 students assisted by the program.
