Some big changes are being implemented within the Erie Fire Department.
Mayor Joe Sinnott announced today that, after 33 years with the department, Fire Chief Tony Pol is retiring. Taking his place is Chief Fire Inspector Guy Santone.
Santone has been with the department for 29 years. Fire Inspector John Widomski will fill Santone’s shoes.
Pol’s retirement is set for June so that the team has a few months to transition. Pol says he plans to spend his free time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
