Erie County Council is expected to take the first step in ending the EMTA dispute tomorrow.
County council scheduled a special meeting to vote on a new proposal created by some members of city and county council. The meeting is set for tomorrow at 5:30 in council chambers.
City councilman Dave Brennan says he put a resolution on city council’s agenda to vote on the proposal at their scheduled meeting this Wednesday. He says he wants to send the message to county council that they are united.
The EMTA proposal would split the number of appointed board members and with both entities contributing financially.
The current charter expires on September 14th.
