A little spring cleaning is good news for local gardeners visiting the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
In an effort to improve the health and vitality of the native garden at the TREC, gardeners divided many of the plants and offered the extras to the public. It was all part of the annual native plant sale. Species available for purchase at the event included many popular plants.
Jen Salem, Garden Coordinator, shared with us, “natives are my number one choice. You have less fertilizer use [and] less water use. They’re pretty easy to care for so if you [don’t have] a green thumb, you should still have some success with them. “
Proceeds from the sale benefit the TREC Garden and Volunteer Program.
