ERIE, Pa. — City Council passed what many are hoping is the last EMTA charter proposal.
City Council voted all in favor of passing the 10-year EMTA charter agreement at their meeting Wednesday night.
The vote came after dozens of people voiced their concerns at the meeting about the EMTA charter. Now, the proposal is in the hands of Erie County Council. They will be voting on the proposal at their meeting Tuesday evening.
According to PennDOT, if both councils don’t agree on an EMTA charter by Oct. 25, the state will begin preliminary measures to take the authority over.
