Erie City Mission expansion progressing, some parts ready for use by mid-October

Local News

Erie City Mission is making progress with expansion to its main campus.

The mission is doubling the size of its dining hall and establishing a chapel that will seat up to 125 people.  The addiction recovery shelter is undergoing a multi-phase project costing more than $3 million.  It includes the already completed kitchen and new shelter and living facilities.

Executive Director of the mission, Steve Westbrook, says, “It just enables us as a mission to better serve the community with more dignity and quality. We’re basically replacing all the facilities we had, and we’re looking forward to another 100 years of service to this city.”

The chapel and dining hall are expected to be ready for use by mid-October.
