It was a communication event like no other, as the Erie County Community Center for the Deaf held a Deaf Social Saturday night.
Those who use, or were interested in learning how to use, sign language gathered at the Millcreek Mall near the food court from 5-9 p.m.
The Erie Center for the Deaf encouraged mall patrons, those hard of hearing and those not, to play games, chat, mingle, and use sign language.
Translators were available to help communicate and guide conversations for all who wanted to improve their signing skills. These socials typically see anywhere from 60 to 80 people, and are held at least once a month at the mall.
