The 6th annual Erie Gives Day sets a new record.
$3.4 million was raised over 12 hours Tuesday. More than 7,000 people made donations.
The Erie Community Foundation said people made donations to all 353 organizations involved. 70 charities received gifts of $10,000 or more.
“We’re so honored to be part of this were actually humbled to see the work of the nonprofit sector and also see the donors coming together this really proves you can do great things when they are together,” said President of Erie Community Foundation, Mike Bachelor.
Toping the list for the amount given was the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education receiving more than $300,000. The organization with the most people who made a donation , the Erie City Mission with 450 donors.
