A Facebook post means extra law enforcement eyes at Erie High School. The school was on soft lockdown today, meaning extra precautions when letting someone into the school.
A few more Erie Police officers were at the school throughout the day. We spoke with Erie School District Spokeswoman Daria Devlin who told us, “we received information on social media chatter that there was a vague threat made against Erie High School. We notified Erie Police and they have been investigating since last night”.
There is no evidence that this was a credible threat but took extreme precautions to ensure student safety. District officials say the social media threat was the result of confusion, an online photo of a national incident was mistaken for a local event.
