Dozens of high school students from all around Erie County are learning about the different career options in the insurance world. In collaboration with ‘Insurance Careers Month,’ Erie Insurance hosted a career roundtable.
The event brought together different departments within the company to network with the students on the many career paths in the industry. From marketing to finance and human resources, the students say they were surprised at the amount of diversity and learned a lot from this one-on-one experience.
Isabel Thompson, Villa Maria Academy Senior, says, “it’s important for me to hear real-life situations and especially because the people I have been talking to are younger so it’s easy for me to relate to their experiences”.
The workshop was held at the Erie Insurance Firehouse building, formerly the Pufferbelly Restaurant.
