Erie native Jenna Tanenbaum finds success with GreenBlender

Local News

Erie native and business owner, Jenna Tanenbaum has found great success with the business she co-founded with her then boyfriend and current husband Amir Cohen.

The couple was living and working in Brooklyn, New York for technology start-ups when their own struggles with eating healthy sparked an idea.  That’s when they began GreenBlender.  A company that ships pre-portioned healthy food complete with recipes to make a variety of fresh smoothies.

Four years ago when the business venture began it was a small operation where Tanenbaum and Cohen would buy the groceries themselves, portion them out and deliver them to customers personally.  Now they own 3 warehouses and employ about 100 people across the country.
Tanenbaum says their success shows how much of a demand there is for quick, healthy options in the kitchen.  She says, “it feels incredible” to know they are helping so many people lead healthier lives.
To date the business has shipped more than 4 million smoothies to hundreds of thousands of customers.
