The now outgoing police chief Don Dacus said he’s proud of what his team accomplished.
Just a few days ago Erie Police officers were recognized for their work.
Under Chief Dacus, the Major Crimes Unit did what some community leaders call unheard of, making an arrest for every homicide in a year.
Dacus told us he hopes the new administration can continue this type of success.
“My role will be detective sargent within the police department and I can assure you I will continue to serve this community to the best of my ability, moving forward as I’ve always done,” said Dacus.
Dacus said his team played an active role in Unified Erie and took great strides in creating positive relations with the community.
