ERIE, Pa. — Police are searching for up to four persons of interest in a shooting in connection with a shooting on the city’s west side that left one man with a bullet to the chest.
At least one masked gunman entered the home in the 900 block of West 18th Street and shot the man, described as mid-20s, according to police.
Police said the suspect fled the scene with up to three other people.
Emergency crews responded to calls of gunfire the around 3:15 p.m. The victim was transported to UPMC Hamot where he underwent surgery.
Police said he was listed in stable condition prior to surgery.
The suspects were still on the run as of Tuesday night.
Erie Police Chief Don Dacus described the suspects as three blacks males and one black female as the getaway driver.
He said witnesses saw a black or dark-colored, four-door sedan leaving the scene. The vehicle is missing the front, passenger’s side hubcap. It was last seen heading north on Cascade Street.
Police believe there were two occupants in the home, including the victim, when the gunman entered.
