Erie Police release photos of ATM skimmer suspects

Local News

The Erie Police Department has released images of the suspects involved in the recent ATM skimming scam on their Facebook page.

They say they’re “investigating several incidents between December 2018 and March 2019 where skimming devices were inserted into ATM machines at local banks.”

They believe the suspects in the photos are responsible for installing the skimmers.  They ask that anyone with more information call Detective Letkiewicz at (814) 870-1514.

Letkiewicz tells us that “The skimmer got jammed in one of the ATM machines and, I believe, DieBold worked on the ATM and discovered the skimmer. There is one suspect in the first skimmer case and he used cloned ATM cards in the Pittsburgh and New Castle Region. The second set of suspects used the cloned card only once.”
