Erie Police are investigating smash and grab burglaries a two Country Fair locations early Monday morning.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage to try to identify the suspects of a break-in at West 26th Street and Greengarden Boulevard.

Police received the call at 3:14 a.m. after witnesses saw four men break through the glass door. The suspects stole a safe and cigarettes, according to Deputy Chief Mike Nolan.

A short time later, at 3:52 a.m., cameras captured at least three suspects who were breaking into the Country Fair at East 26th Street and East Avenue. Cigarette were stolen from that location, as well.

Nolan said it appears that the suspects at both locations dressed and behaved similarly. He reminded residents and business owners to remain vigilant.

“If anyone happens to anyone acting strange or lurking around a building, a business that is closed in the early morning hours, obviously that is something that should be reported to the police,” he said.
