Erie police working with Secret Service for Friday’s Trump rally

Local News

Erie police are preparing for Friday’s Donald Trump rally to ensure everyone’s safety.

Deputy Chief Donald Dacus said the department is in meetings with the Trump campaign and Secret Service this week to determine the level of security and number of additional officers needed during Trump’s campaign stop at the Erie Insurance Arena on Friday.

Dacus said there will be officers in uniform and plain clothes during the rally.

Dacus said to bring a limited amount of things with you if you are planning to attend the event Friday to help keep security checks at the front door quick and smooth.

The doors open to the arena at 11 a.m. and Trump is expected to speak at 2 p.m.
