Erie’s Public Schools are facing a multi -million dollar deficit. Monday, Erie School Board voted to pass a financial recovery plan to submit to Harrisburg. The state mandated a financial recovery plan to be
$31.8 million is the total five year deficit the district is facing. The district is facing a $10.1 million deficit for the 2017-2018 school year.
The plan does have a small property tax increase of 0.5% The Department of Education will be reviewing the financial recovery plan
