Esterbrook receives 5-10 years for stabbing a victim multiple times in August of last year

An Erie man will spend the next 5-10 years in prison for an attack on another man involving a knife.

32-year-old Matthew Esterbrook receiving that sentence in court for the August 2nd attack in a parking lot near West 26th Street.

The victim was stabbed several times in the neck and back. In court, the defense argued that it was the first time Esterbrook was in court for a violent crime and that he should receive a more lenient sentence.

Esterbrook’s attorney also said that drugs may have played a role that night.
